A DaySmart Pet alternative for a one-person shop

DaySmart's $29 plan, and the condition on it

DaySmart Pet's Basic plan is $29 a month if you process cards with DaySmart and $39 if you do not, for one user and 500 texts a month. DaySmart includes texting back and forth with clients from Deluxe Growth at $149, and sells it as an add-on on Deluxe. FurSlot's price is $19, $24 or $49 a month, whichever way you take payments.

DaySmart covers far more ground: a point of sale with card readers, gift cards, payroll and commissions, a phone app, repeating appointments, and boarding and daycare too. Its free trial also asks for no card, where FurSlot's asks for one. FurSlot doesn't try to match that range. It comes with its breed price list already filled in and leaves each no-show fee up to you, for one flat monthly price.

DaySmart Pet's salon features

From DaySmart's own pricing and grooming software pages, checked 22 September 2026:

• A till. Point of sale with Clover Mini or Flex readers for swipe, dip and tap, and branded gift cards.
• Retail stock. Inventory management, on Deluxe according to DaySmart's grooming software page.
• Staff and payroll. Three users on Deluxe, six on Premium, payroll from Deluxe, and time clocks and commissions for employees.
• Boarding and daycare. DaySmart lists both among the businesses it serves.
• Texting back and forth. Included from Deluxe Growth and sold as an add-on on Deluxe, alongside text marketing.
• A phone app. DaySmart lists one on all its plans, Basic included.
• Repeating appointments. Enter a regular client's details once and DaySmart books the rest.
• Packages, loyalty and forms. Packages and pre-paid, a client loyalty system and digital forms from Deluxe, and QuickBooks Online on Premium.
• Directions on the road. DaySmart gives mobile groomers maps, turn-by-turn directions and travel time estimates.

We rule out three of these ourselves: on FurSlot's page for solo groomers, we say that if you need retail inventory, boarding and daycare, or payroll, FurSlot is the wrong tool. We haven't built the others, or several more besides. FurSlot has no point of sale or card reader, no phone app, no repeating bookings, no tipping, no memberships or gift cards, no staff logins, no intake forms, no add-ons picked at booking, no API, and no texting back and forth. It takes deposits through Stripe and nothing else, so if you want a different card processor, FurSlot cannot do it.

FurSlot features DaySmart doesn't advertise

DaySmart's pricing and grooming software pages don't mention these, though DaySmart may offer some of them without saying so there.

• A price list you don't build. FurSlot fills in 243 breeds the moment your account exists, each with a time and a price for a Full Groom, a Bath and Brush and a Nail Trim. You edit the prices you want to change instead of starting from an empty list. See the breed matrix.
• No payments product to push. There's no FurSlot processor to steer you toward. Deposits and no-show fees land on your Stripe account, and you pay Stripe's fees to Stripe with no percentage to FurSlot. See how that works.
• A no-show fee you approve. DaySmart advertises online deposits and a card on file for no-shows. By default FurSlot asks before it charges any fee, and you can switch the shop, or one client, to charge without asking or to never charge.
• A published text price. 200 texts on Solo, 500 on Pro and 1,500 on Team, then 2 cents each, added to your next bill. DaySmart doesn't list a price for extra texts on its pricing page.
• Your client list stays yours. From Settings you can export clients, pets and appointments to a spreadsheet, even on a locked account.

Plan by plan, DaySmart Pet against FurSlot

DaySmart publishes two prices for each plan, a lower one if you process cards with DaySmart and a higher one if you do not. The $29 headline price depends on that condition, so we list both numbers below, as DaySmart published them on 22 September 2026.

Working alone, you'd pick Solo at $19 or Pro at $24. Until 50 shops hold a paid subscription, each new Pro subscriber keeps $19 for life. On top of either, Stripe's card fees go to Stripe.

Moving your data across

There is no DaySmart importer in FurSlot, so you bring your data across with the spreadsheet import. It matches the usual column names from any software, such as client or owner name, phone, pet or dog name, breed, email and notes. If the file carries a date and a time, the appointments come across as well as the clients.

You see a preview before FurSlot saves anything, and FurSlot marks any breed that could match more than one row rather than guessing. Upload the same file twice and FurSlot updates the clients already there instead of adding duplicates. If your export is awkward, email it to us and we type it in. Shops that should keep DaySmart Pet

If you sell shampoo over a counter, pay a bather, board dogs, or need a till, stay on DaySmart. Stay too if your clients text you and expect a reply in the same thread, or if you want a phone app, because FurSlot has none of these.

Does FurSlot have a till or retail?

No. FurSlot has no point of sale, no card reader, no stock or inventory, no product sales and no gift cards. It takes deposits and no-show fees online, through your own Stripe account. If you sell products over the counter you would need a separate till, and DaySmart includes one.

Can I import my DaySmart export?

If you can export your clients as a CSV spreadsheet, yes. FurSlot reads the file by matching common column names and has no special knowledge of DaySmart's format, so look over the preview before you save. It writes nothing until you confirm. If the file will not line up, email it to us and we will enter it for you.

Does FurSlot handle boarding?

No. FurSlot books grooming appointments and nothing else: no boarding, no daycare, no kennel runs and no overnight stays. If any part of your income comes from boarding or daycare, DaySmart or another kennel-capable tool is the better fit, and FurSlot says so on its own pages.

Do I need a card to try FurSlot?

Yes. The 14-day trial starts at Stripe checkout with your card, and your first payment comes only when the trial ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing. DaySmart's trial asks for no card, which is easier if you only want a look, so if that's you, try FurSlot's live demo booking page first.
