Every dog's cut, coat and quirks, in one place

Updated 22 September 2026

Each dog in FurSlot has its own profile: the cut you gave it, how it behaves on the table, what it is allergic to, when its rabies runs out, photos, notes and its groom history.

What goes on the dog

The profile opens with the dog's name, breed (both breeds for a mix) and size, then its completed grooms, what it has spent with you, its most booked service, and its usual number of weeks between visits.

The grooming preferences card

Haircut style, length, face, ears, nails and coat type each get a field, with a box for special requests. It is the card you check before the dog goes on the table, so you read "teddy face, half inch all over, grind the nails" off the screen instead of trying to remember it.

The pet details card holds weight, color, month and year of birth, microchip, sex, spayed or neutered, temperament, and coat and matting notes. Temperament shows as tags at the top of the profile, and you can flip the VIP switch to mark your regulars.

Health, allergies and medications

Allergies, medications and the last vet visit each have a field, so the shampoo a dog reacts to is on the page before you reach for the bottle.

Vaccinations and when they run out

Add each vaccine with the date given and the date it expires. FurSlot marks each record current, expiring within 30 days, or expired, and your dashboard shows how many across all your clients expire in the next 30 days.

What goes on the owner

The owner card shows the client's name, mobile and email, whether they agreed to text reminders and when, and the card on file as its last four digits. Stripe holds the card itself, which the client adds when they book online.

You can edit the mobile and email, and tick a box when a client tells you they agree to reminder texts. Changing the mobile clears that tick, because the client agreed to texts at the old number. On the client list you also pick each client's no-show fee setting: charge it without asking, never charge it, or ask you first.

If a regular books online again with the same mobile and the same dog's name, FurSlot adds the booking to the dog you already have, so the dog's history stays on one profile.

Photos from your phone

Tap the photo button on a dog's profile and your phone offers the camera or your photo library. Before and after shots save onto the dog, up to 12 photos per dog, and the newest becomes the picture at the top. FurSlot shrinks each photo on the phone before it uploads, so a big picture does not stall on a weak signal.

Notes, and who wrote them

You keep a running log of notes on each dog. FurSlot dates a note when you save it, and you can sign it with a name if you want. The newest sits at the top, so "nipped at the grinder, use the muzzle" is the first thing the next person reads. A note can run up to 500 characters, and you can delete it once it stops being true.

Finding a dog fast

The client list shows each client with their dogs, completed visits, last seen, next visit and card on file. Type in the filter box to narrow it by client name, dog name or phone, and use the buttons to switch between all clients, active ones, and those with nothing booked.

A client whose last groom was more than 60 days ago, with nothing booked, gets an Overdue tag. From the dog's profile you can then send a prewritten rebooking text with your booking link, once they have agreed to texts. FurSlot does not rebook anyone on its own, so you decide which clients get a nudge.

Getting all of it back out

The Download my data button in Settings gives you CSV files that open in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets:

  • Clients. Name, phone, email, number of dogs, client since, text reminders, no-show fee setting, card on file as masked digits, and notes.
  • Dogs. Name, owner, breeds, sex, weight, date of birth, allergies, medications and special requests.
  • Appointments. Date, time, dog, owner, service, minutes, price, status, deposit, the no-show fee decision, and who booked it.

The grooming preferences card, temperament, vaccinations, the notes log and photos are not in the export today. If you are leaving and need those, ask through the contact page.

What the records don't cover

  • No intake forms and no digital waivers. You still handle signed waivers on paper or wherever you do them now.
  • No place to attach a vaccination certificate. You record the vaccine and its two dates.
  • No automatic message to a client when a vaccination is about to run out. The dashboard shows you the count, and you ask the client yourself.
  • No way to remove a photo from a profile yet, so a dog's gallery is full at 12.
  • No client access to the dog's profile: the records are yours alone.

Keeping the cut and the shots on record

How do I remember what cut a dog had last time?

Write it on the dog's grooming preferences card, where haircut style, length, face, ears and nails each have their own field. It sits next to the groom history, which lists the date, service and price of each past appointment. Add a before and after photo when words are not enough.

Can I keep vaccination records in here?

Yes. Each dog has a vaccinations list where you record the vaccine, the date given and the date it expires. FurSlot flags each entry as current, expiring within 30 days, or expired, and your dashboard counts the ones expiring in the next 30 days across all your clients. FurSlot does not store the certificate itself or message the client for you.

Can I take a photo of the dog on my phone and stick it on the profile?

Yes. Open the dog's profile on your phone, tap the photo button, and take the picture or pick one from your library. It saves onto the dog, up to 12 photos each, and the newest becomes the picture at the top of the profile. There is nothing to install, because it works in your phone's web browser.

Can I get my client list back out if I leave?

Yes. Settings has a Download my data button that exports your clients, dogs and appointments as CSV files you can open in any spreadsheet or upload to another system. Grooming preferences, vaccinations, the notes log and photos are not in that file today, so ask us through the contact page if you need those too.
